Less than a month after Cross Season 1 premiered on Prime Video, viewers are already anxiously waiting for Cross Season 2 and all the updates

With many fans having binged all eight episodes of Season 1 in a single sitting, some are wondering if and when Prime will be giving the world more of Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge) and his crew.

Season 1 of the Prime Video hit series follows the titular character, a forensic psychologist and DC Metro Detective, as he investigates the mysterious FanBoy Killer. Assisted by Detective John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), Nana Momma (Juanita Jennings), Agent Kayla Craig (Alona Tal), and his situationship Elle (Samantha Walkes), Alex is a father and cop who is managing both the personal and the professional while also trying to solve the murder of his wife. Juicy stuff.

With so much to look forward to, it’s no surprise that fans are eagerly anticipating another batch of episodes about Alex and his team.

Below is everything we know about Cross Season 2, including when it will hit Prime Video and whether or not the FanBoy Killer — a.k.a. Ed Ramsey (Ryan Eggold) will make another appearance.

Will Cross Have a Season 2?

We’re about to give you some great news: Cross has indeed been renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video. In fact, the streaming service is so confident about the future of the show that it renewed Cross for a second season before the first season even dropped in early November.

When Will Cross Season 2 Premiere on Prime Video?

Here’s the bad news: We don’t know when exactly Cross Season 2 will be coming to Prime. The streaming service has yet to confirm a release date for the highly-anticipated sequel to Season 1 more than two weeks after all eight episodes dropped.

That being said, every cloud has a silver lining and this cloud is looking particularly shiny. In October, showrunner Ben Watkins confirmed to Screen Rant that not only is Season 2 confirmed, but it’s already been filmed in its entirety.

“I just want to preface this by saying if you do have something [you want from Season 2], I hope that it will be something you did see, because it’s already shot,” Watkins shared.

It sounds like Season 2 could be coming sooner rather than later!

Where Does Cross Season 1 Leave Viewers?

Season 1 ends with Alex bringing Ramsey to justice for his crimes as the FanBoy Killer and rushing to the hospital just in time to stop him from claiming another victim. While Ramsey had hoped his crimes would go down in history, Alex and John promptly ensured that Ramsey will be erased after torching his manifesto.

Alex also managed to finally answer the question about who killed Maria, tracking down not only the responsible parties but also figuring out why they did it. After a season of twists and turns, Alex discovered that Maria’s murder was ordered by Damon’s music teacher, Miss Nancy (Karen Robinson) who cozied up to the Cross family after someone she loved was sentenced to life in prison thanks to Alex’s testimony.

Who Will Return in Cross Season 2 Cast?

While a full cast list has not been confirmed for Season 2, it is believed that the main cast members will return. This includes Mustafa, Jennings, Tal, and Walkes, as well as Caleb Elijah (Damon Cross), Melody Hurd (Janelle Cross), and Jennifer Wigmore (Chief Anderson).

As for Season 1’s villain, Ed Ramsey, the jury is still out on whether or not fans will see the FanBoy Killer again after Season 1 saw him narrowly escape death. It does sound like Eggold may be open to a return. That is if he hasn’t already filmed new scenes.

“I’m not allowed to say anything,” Eggold recently told TV Insider. “My honest answer is I don’t know. The possibility exists. We’ve discussed things, but yeah, I don’t know what to say.”

What Will Cross Season 2 Be About?

Given that Cross is based on the famous James Patterson book series with 32 novels to the title, any story is up for grabs, it seems. Season 1 didn’t follow one book specifically so Season 2 could be a mod-podge of Alex’s experiences from the original source material.

The first season of Cross is currently streaming on Prime Video.
