The Last of Us Season 2 hits a new gear this week, as Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina (Isabela Merced) continue their quest to find and kill the Seattle-based “Wolves” responsible for their beloved Joel’s (Pedro Pascal) gruesome death. The HBO show has wasted no time raising the stakes on an already tense show set in a brutal world. Now, knowing that no one on this hit show is safe — not even Joel — what can we possibly expect to happen next? What’s going to happen on the next installment of The Last of Us Season 2? More importantly: when exactly does The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 4 come out on HBO and MAX?

The Last of Us Season 2 is based on the super-popular video game, The Last of Us II. That best-selling RPG puts you in the shoes of a few different survivors in a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland. So far, the series has largely focused on the characters of Joel and Ellie, using new character Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) sparingly, and as the season’s primary antagonist.

Abby and her friends spent the five years between The Last of Us Seasons 1 and 2 hunting Joel down. Why? Well, The Last of Us Season 1 ends with Joel mowing down a hospital full of freedom fighters called Fireflies to save Ellie’s life. Ellie is miraculously immune and the Fireflies wanted to use her DNA and brain cells to potentially make a cure for the fungal plague that’s destroyed the entire world. Joel, however, had grown to see Ellie as his daughter and couldn’t let that happen. Abby and her friends lost their friends and family in Joel’s violent rampage, kicking off an endless cycle of revenge and violence in the HBO show.

Curious if Ellie and Dina will get to Seattle this week? Dying to learn more about that weird Seraphite cult introduced last week? Wondering what’s going on with the WLF? Still hoping Joel will come back from the dead?
