President Donald Trump will be sitting down with ABC News in the White House for a special interview to mark the first 100 days of his second term.
In President Trump the First 100 Days: The Interview in the Oval Office, President Trump will be joined by ABC News senior national correspondent Terry Moran Tuesday (April 29) evening for a primetime special that will allow the president to address some of his recent political moves.
This special comes at a particularly interesting moment for the presidency as well. A recent poll from ABC News, Washington Post, and Ipsos found that Trump has the the lowest 100-day approval rating of any president in the last 80 years.
Only 39% of those polls said they approve of how Trump is handling the presidency, while 55% say they disapprove. This marks the second time Trump has earned the lowest approval rating at or around 100 days in office; he previously received 42% in 2017.
The poll also found that 72% said they think “it’s very or somewhat likely that his economic policies will cause a recession in the short term.”
The first three months of Trump’s second presidency have been eventful with thousands of government layoffs, massive changes in immigration policies, and a trade war with China. But there’s no telling what will be tackled in the ABC special when it airs.
