“The Bear” isn’t finished cooking yet. FX has renewed the half-hour series for Season 5.
Season 4 of “The Bear,” which dropped all 10 episodes on Hulu on June 25, follows Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they continue navigating the challenges of running their fine dining restaurant. The cast also includes Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Oliver Platt, Abby Elliott and Matty Matheson.
The series was created by Christopher Storer, who serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube. Courtney Storer serves as a co-executive producer and culinary producer. The series is produced by FX Productions.
“’The Bear’ continues to be a fan favorite worldwide and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said John Landgraf, chairman of FX. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make ‘The Bear’ one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
There had been speculation about whether the show would continue following the meteoric rise of its cast and conflicting schedules. White, Edebiri and Moss-Bachrach are all navigating packed calendars.
White will portray Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming 20th Century Studios biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” which is expected to be a significant Oscar contender later this year. Edebiri will appear opposite Julia Roberts in Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt,” set for release in October. She is also set to star alongside Woody Harrelson in James L. Brooks’ “Ella McCay,” which premieres in December.
Moss-Bachrach is entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” debuting in July. He will also appear in “Avengers: Doomsday,” which he is currently filming in London, and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
The Emmy nomination voting period concluded on June 23, and Season 3 is widely expected to earn another impressive haul. In 2024, “The Bear” made history with 23 nominations, later winning 11 — the most ever for a comedy series in a single year.
