Sydney Sweeney is feeling euphoric about her body transformation.
In fact, the actress said she “loved” gaining more than 30 pounds to play boxing legend Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic directed by David Michôd.
“I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training,” she told W magazine in an interview published June 7. “I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”
As a result of her new routine, Sydney said her body became “completely different.”
“I didn’t fit in any of my clothes,” she continued. “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy!”
The 27-year-old added with a laugh, “But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”
Indeed, it takes a strong woman to play Christy. After all, she survived a near-fatal attack in 2010 by her then-husband James “Jim” Martin. (Jim died in 2024 while serving his prison sentence for the attempted murder.)
