The Avengers have assembled once again — well, some of them.

Marvel star Robert Downey Jr. posted a photo with some of his fellow cast members from next year’s major tentpole “Avengers: Doomsday” to watch the latest MCU movie, “Thunderbolts*,” all together.

“Just wow!!! Dinner and a show with the Old Avengers. So cool, fresh, and deep. Big congrats to the New Avengers (and Bob). #Thunderbolts,” Downey wrote on Friday, ahead of the opening weekend for “Thunderbolts*.” He and his cast mates all made T’s with their hands in honor of the new Thunderbolts team.

Downey posed with several old and familiar faces. He was with his longtime “Thor” buddy Chris Hemsworth, “Ant-Man” star Paul Rudd and Anthony Mackie, the new face of the “Captain America” franchise as Sam Wilson. There was also Simu Liu, who starred in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” and Winston Duke, who played Wakandan warrior M’Baku in the “Black Panther” movies, “Infinity War” and “Endgame.” Both will be back for “Avengers: Doomsday,” along with a host of other stars. Downey, instead of returning as Iron Man, will be playing the ultimate bad guy, Doctor Doom.

As for the newcomers in Downey’s photos, there was Channing Tatum, who debuted as the X-Men character Gambit in last year’s blockbuster “Deadpool and Wolverine,” and “Fantastic Four” stars Vanessa Kirby and Ebon-Moss Bachrach. Their Invisible Woman and the Thing will be introduced into the MCU in this summer’s “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” along with Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic and Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch. After nearly stealing the show in “Deadpool and Wolverine,” Tatum’s Gambit will be back, in addition to past “X-Men” stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn.

The “Thunderbolts*” cast, including Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen and Lewis Pullman, will also reprise their roles in “Avengers: Doomsday.”

“Thunderbolts*” is playing in theaters now, while “Avengers: Doomsday” arrives on May 1, 2026.
