Ricki Lake is giving transparency a little lift.
While feeling good from her head to her shoes, the former talk show host appeared on a Thursday taping of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.” Mid-conversation, Cohen commented that Lake had gotten a bit of a “zhuzh up.” With a flattering hair toss and a gleam of self-assurance, Lake leaned in — both figuratively and literally — to share her journey of acceptance.
She revealed that she had “shaved her head six years ago” while battling androgenic hair loss. But what came next was a not-so-public enhancement to her already familiar face.
“I’ve had a lower face and neck lift,” she told the cheering audience, lifting the veil with candor.
Cohen, a pillar of support, responded, “It looks so good.”
With a touch of sarcasm and a healthy dose of self-confidence, Lake called it “the best face lift” she has ever seen. She went on to call her doctor a “genius” and called him “the best” in the game — so much so that she referred “many” people to him.
The Bravo host followed up and said, “I’m heading to LA for this!”
Lake said she’s found peace in her decision — and she’s not afraid to show her work.
“I’m fully transparent, always have been,” she said. “But I don’t want there to be any stigma.”
She also shared that after losing “a lot of weight,” she noticed her neck had become a problem area, so, naturally, she got it “fixed.”
