The “Prison Break” reboot pilot at Hulu has added four new cast members in guest star roles, Variety has learned.
Ray McKinnon (“Deadwood,” “Mayans MC”), Margo Martindale (“Justified,” “The Sticky”), Donal Logue (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Grounded for Life”), and Lili Taylor (“Manhunt,” “Outer Range”) are all set to guest star in the pilot. They join previously announced cast members Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, Drake Rodger, Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Myles Bullock, Georgie Flores, and Priscilla Delgado.
The pilot, which hails from writer Elgin James, will be set within the same world as the original Fox series but will feature new characters and a new storyline. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps.
McKinnon will play Joe Dahl, described as “a private detective investigating a decade old murder.” Martindale will play Jessica Strand, “the Warden of one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Logue appears as Holt Keane, “a father grieving the loss of his family.” Taylor will play Carole Mullen, “a mother committed to finding the truth.”
McKinnon is repped by Anonymous Content and Paradigm. Martindale is repped by Gersh. Logue is repped by Kipperman Management, Gersh, and RLG LLP. Taylor is repped by Independent Artist Group and Untitled Entertainment.
James is writing and executive producing the reboot pilot, with Dawn Olmstead, “Prison Break” creator Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz also executive producing. 20th Television, which produced the original series, is the studio.
“Prison Break” ran for five seasons on Fox and spawned a TV movie, “The Final Break,” and a low-budget spinoff, “Prison Break: Proof of Innocence,” which was exclusively available on mobile phones. The series also inspired a video game, online webisodes, a magazine and a novel.
