Following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ incarceration last week, theories began circulating on social media that some artists — notably Usher and Pink — wiped their X accounts to remove any incriminating data that could be linked to his ongoing legal troubles.

But Pink is squashing those rumors, taking to her Instagram and Facebook accounts to dispel speculation that she recently deleted her tweets. “I don’t know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6!!!” she wrote. “There is no truth to the rumors spread this week, and while I’ve met people in passing, I’m not associated with any of the people mentioned.”

To reinforce her claim, the pop singer posted a screenshot of her final tweet on her X account before she pressed the delete button. “This account will self destruct in two minutes,” she wrote on Feb. 6. “Do it!!!!!!”

Conspiracies have been running rampant on social media that musicians and actors are scrambling after Combs was held without bail in regard to sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Some noticed that Usher, who has spoken about attending Combs’ parties in the past and collaborated with him on music, deleted all of his tweets last week.

But Usher quickly set the record straight that he had actually been hacked, and that users on social media inflated the story. “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it!” he wrote on Sunday, just prior to one of his four shows in Los Angeles. “See you tonight at Intuit Dome.”

Combs is currently in prison after a judge deemed him a flight risk for his various charges. No trial date has been set for his case.
