Pete Davidson revealed a family trauma as he took the stage during a comedy festival in New Jersey Friday.
The comedian claimed his maternal grandfather used to “beat” him and told a shocked audience that he’s happy that his grandfather is now dying of lung cancer.
“He used to beat the s**t out of me and I don’t like him very much,” Davidson alleged, according to the Daily Mail.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum also shared that his grandfather — whom he described as an “old school dude” — has difficulty breathing because of emphysema.
But Davidson has no sympathy for his grandfather’s deteriorating health, noting that he hopes his grandfather “f**king rots.”
“I’m low-key thrilled. I’m like, die slow motherf–er,” he shockingly said.
Davidson said he still wanted to be supportive of his mother, Amy Davidson, who is “sad” about her father dying.
“I don’t want to be rude to my mom. I think I have the best mom in the world,” he said. “I’m very, very lucky. So I’ve been trying to remember a good time that me and my grandpa had so I could hold onto it.”
The “Bupkis” star’s performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, was part of the North to Shore Festival, which also featured Jon Stewart and John Mulaney.
Davidson, 31, has been open about his complicated childhood. His father, Scott Davidson, was a New York City firefighter and died during 9/11.
“I had a really sh–ty childhood and like the worst thing that ever could have happened to me, happened to me when I was 7,” he told People in April.
“I’ve kind of just been like, ‘F–k it. Like, who the f–k cares?’ You know? And like, ‘F–k everyone,’” he continued.
The “King of Staten Island” star said he now has a healthier mentality.
“At the end of the day, it’s like your family matters and your two or three friends that you have matter. Everybody else can go f–k themselves,” he said. “And you don’t have to put all this pressure on yourself.”
Davidson is currently dating model Elsie Hewitt, 29. On the day of his comedy show, he dropped nearly $31,000 on matching Rolex watches for the two of them, a source exclusively told Page Six Style.
He made the pricy purchase at the grand opening of the Gerald Peters Watch & Jewelry showroom in his native Staten Island, NY.
