Former first lady Michelle Obama once said, “When they go low, we go high.” This time, her version of “high” means cutting through the rumors with the facts.
There’s been no shortage of speculation about her union with former President Barack Obama. But lately, she has been setting the record straight at every turn.
While appearing on “The Diary Of A CEO” podcast on Thursday, the former first lady made it clear she wouldn’t be silently suffering if things went left in her relationship.
“If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,” Obama said. She went on to note that her brother Craig Robinson, seated beside her, and a host of others would be the first to hear about it.
“I’m not a martyr. I would be problem-solving in public. ‘Let me tell you what he did,’” she joked.

Robinson, who hosts the “IMO Podcast” with his sister, chimed in with a joke of his own.
“If they were having a problem, I would be doing a podcast with him,” he quipped.
Obama also spoke about her relationship during an April 9 episode of the actor Sophia Bush’s podcast, “Work in Progress,” addressing the speculation that marital discord was behind her choices not to attend certain public events this year.
“That’s the thing that we as women, I think … we struggle with disappointing people. I mean, so much so that this year people were … they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing,” she said.

In February, Obama posted a Valentine’s Day tribute to her husband.
“If there’s one person I can always count on, it’s you, @BarackObama,” she wrote. “You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be. Happy Valentine’s Day, honey! ❤️”
