Meghan Markle got real about “painful” times on her podcast.
The Duchess of Sussex commiserated with her “Confessions of a Female Founder” guest, Clevr Blends co-creator Hannah Mendoza, on Tuesday about how “every day is not going to be the same” while running a business.
“Some days are going to be harder to show up as your best and shiniest self,” she explained.
“Maybe on that day, something really painful happened in your real life, but for your team, that is not how you show up. You can’t.”
Markle, 43, noted that she, instead, leans on conversations with other businesswomen, gushing over “the safety of stream of consciousness with someone who understands it.”
Elsewhere in the episode, the “Suits” alum praised her lifestyle brand As Ever‘s recent “big milestones.”
From Netflix coming on as her business partner to her first round of products quickly selling out, Markle called these moments “proof points.”
She explained, “That told me that customers — people — believed in me and this vision. That’s all you really want as a founder.”
The former actress now knows “those late nights and the midnight musings [were] worth it.”
Markle started selling flower sprinkles, honey and more items last month on the heels of her “With Love, Meghan” show premiering on Netflix.
She simultaneously launched her podcast in April, with guests ranging from Bumble’s Whitney Wolfe Herd to IT Cosmetics’ Jamie Kern Lima.
Markle returned the favor by appearing on Lima’s eponymous podcast last week.
The royal spoke about her romance with “fox” Prince Harry, whom she wed in May 2018.
Markle looked back on the “H” and “M” code names they created when their relationship began in 2016 — and predicted that the couple will last “forever.”
“My husband’s very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful,” she said of the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex, with whom she shares son Prince Archie, 6, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3.
