He was one of Hollywood’s biggest stars throughout the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s, and Glenn Ford inspired his son Peter to join him in the acting business too. The late actor, who you may remember for his roles in Gilda and Pocketful of Miracles , even worked alongside his son in eight movies before Peter pursued a different career direction entirely.

A famous family

Peter was born in Los Angeles in February 1945, the only child of actor Glenn Ford and Eleanor Powell. His mother was a huge star in her own right, and worked as a tap dancer and MGM musical star, so perhaps he was always destined to follow in their footsteps.
