“The Challenge” is set to return to MTV with Season 41, “Vets and New Threats.”
The follow-up to “Battle of the Eras” will premiere on Wednesday, July 30, at 8 p.m. ET on MTV; It will roll out globally across international networks in over 165 countries in the following months.
The cast includes eight past winners of the show, including Cara Maria Sorbello, Derrick Kosinski, Aviv Melmed, Ashley Mitchell, Rogan O’Connor, CT Tamburello, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Turbo. The “New Threat” team includes reality stars from “Love Island,” “Survivor,” “Big Brother,” “Too Hot to Handle,” “Are You the One?,” “The Amazing Race,” “Married at First Sight UK,” “Canada’s Ultimate Challenge” and “Cheer.” The cast also includes a former WWE superstar and a boxer.
This season will launch a “new era” with a game that’s “never been more unpredictable.”
Here’s the official logline: “For 40 seasons, generations of battle-hardened Veterans have fought relentlessly for the ultimate prize: the title of Challenge Champion. This season, fresh faces and new threats have entered the arena with one goal: to upend the old order and take it all. The Vets, driven by legacy and pride, will need to adapt fast. Their established hierarchy is crumbling, and leaning on past alliances, and experience is no longer reliable—it’s about navigating the ever-shifting landscape of alliances, betrayals, and unknown threats. To win, Veterans and New Threats will be forced to work together, unless they’re forced to turn on each other. Nothing is guaranteed.”
“The Challenge: Vets and New Threats: Day Zero,” a launch special to get to know the cast, will air on July 23 at 8 p.m. on MTV and the next day on MTV.com, VOD, and on “The Challenge” YouTube page. Additionally, a new season of MTV’s “Official Challenge Podcast” will debut with episodes dropping every Thursday.
Julie Pizzi, Justin Booth and Jacob Lane serve as executive producers for Bunim/Murray, with Diego Amson and Brad Tiemann serving as co-executive producers. Joe Awgul is supervising producer with Margaret Morales as producer. For MTV, Dan Caster and Leanne Mucci are executive producers and Angela Liao is the executive in charge of production.
“The Challenge” was created for MTV by Bunim/Murray Productions, part of Banijay Americas.
