Actor Mads Mikkelsen is reprising his role as James Bond “Casino Royale” villain Le Chiffre in a new collaboration between IO Interactive’s “Hitman” video game and the studio’s upcoming “007 First Light” title.

Beginning Friday, private banker Le Chiffre (voiced by Mikkelsen) will be featured as the new Elusive Target in a “Hitman” update across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the newly launched Nintendo Switch 2. The campaign will go through July 6.

Per the event’s description, “Mads Mikkelsen returns as Le Chiffre, the iconic private banker to the criminal underworld, known for his mastery of games of chance and probability. A recent failed venture left him in dire straits, losing vast sums of both legitimate and illicit capital, and in a desperate bid to recover, he has arranged a high-stakes poker game at the Casino Monarchique in Paris. Agent 47 has been tasked with infiltrating the perilous event and will have to find his way to his target to prevent havoc being wreaked across the world.”

The crossover event, which is being done in part to promote the upcoming release of IO’s forthcoming Bond game made with Amazon MGM Studios, “007 First Light,” was announced out of Summer Game Fest on Friday in Los Angeles, with Mikkelsen coming out on stage to reveal the big news alongside IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abra.

Players who play Le Chiffre’s “The Banker” Elusive Target in “Hitman” and have signed up for IOI account will receive an exclusive casino suit to redeem in “007 First Light” when it launches in 2026.
