It’s always a fun time when Luann de Lesseps is in the Bravo Clubhouse. While she was there to promote her the new dating series Bravo’s Love Hotel, de Lesseps also dished on her romantic history, her alleged one-night stand with Southern Hospitality star Joe Bradley, and delivered a message to the late Pope Francis.
De Lesseps, who starred in the first 13 seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City, revealed that a man once invited her to have sex at a church in Rome.
“I had a boyfriend at the time and one of this best friends called me up on the down low and said, ‘Hey, Lu. Want to meet me in a church?’ He wanted to have sex in church,” she told host Andy Cohen on Sunday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
De Lesseps, however, said she turned down the offer because she is Catholic.
“I mean, I can’t think of anything more sacrilegious than that. Especially in Rome. The Pope just passed away!” she exclaimed, before putting her hands in a prayer, looking toward the sky, and adding, “Rest in peace, darling.”
Confused, Cohen asked, “Was that a message to the Pope?” to which de Lesseps confirmed, “That was.”
The Countess took her hands into a prayer once again and added, “I love you,” seemingly speaking to the late Pope Francis, who died of a stroke and irreversible cardiovascular arrest last month.
While de Lesseps might’ve turned down sex in a church, she had no problem inviting Bradley back to her apartment after their January 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Bradley and his co-stars confirmed that they hooked up in Southern Hospitality Season 3, though de Lesseps told Cohen that she wouldn’t “kiss and tell.”
“While we’re sitting here, Joe Bradley goes, ‘I’m 27-and-a-half.’ I go, ‘Don’t ever say the half, OK? Let’s just round it up to 28,’” she said. “We just had this connection, which was so cool. And we hung out. I don’t have to get into details because a lady doesn’t kiss and tell. But usually I like to stay in my age range, age-appropriate for me.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
