Liv and Mia Tyler recalled learning they were sisters while attending one of their father Steven Tyler’s, concerts.
The half-siblings talked about how they found out they were related when Liv’s mom, Bebe Buell, and Mia’s mother, Cyrinda Foxe, decided to take them to the same show.
“I remember there were no kids backstage. So we played hard that night,” Mia, 46, told Kate and Oliver Hudson on their most recent episode for “Sibling Revelry.”
“And we were at this VIP area, outside of the green rooms, and we were just like, you know, doing our 9- and 9-year-old thing, and this fan lady came up and she was like, ‘Oh my god, you girls are so cute. Are you guys sisters?’”
Liv — who was mostly raised by her grandparents in Maine — said this came as a huge shock because she didn’t even know she was the Aerosmith’s rocker’s daughter until that night.
She had grown up thinking she was Todd Rundgren’s. The Utopia frontman, 76, had even signed Liv’s birth certificate when she was born in July 1977, and was a father figure in her life.
“That particular night that she’s [Mia] talking about, Guns N’ Roses were opening for Aerosmith,” the “Armageddon” star, 47, recalled.
“It was the beginning of their song ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’ We had driven to the gig at a place called Great Woods,” Liv explained.
“We got tickets and we went to the audience and we were standing, and Guns N’ Roses was playing and I was so excited because I just loved Guns N’ Roses. And on the side of the stage was this one girl standing there.”
Mia interjected, “Axl [Rose] used to dedicate ‘Sweet Child o Mine’ to me like every tour, and he’d bring me out on stage and be like, ‘This is again to you.’”
Liv said the moment made her realize she may have a special connection to the other little girl.
“I just remember standing there watching them play, looking and seeing this girl who looked exactly like me,” the “Incredible Hulk” actress said.
“Like, we literally had the same outfit on. We had both had perms, like spiral perms, pink frosty lipstick. We were both wearing an Aerosmith concert T-shirt with black leggings and Reebok high-top sneakers,” Liv described.
“I looked and I was like, ‘Wait, that’s me.’ It was really weird. I was literally like looking in the mirror, seeing double.”
After the song dedication, Liv’s mom told her that Steven, 77, was her real father.
“I looked at my mom, and she just started crying. My mom was bawling, and I was like, ‘Is Steven my dad?’ and she just burst,” she recalled.
“She took me to a bench and we sat on at an outdoor amphitheater, and she told me the whole story in the most sincere, beautiful way.”
After the revelation, Liv said she started to develop a relationship with Mia and the “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” musician. However, she recalled how the whole situation impacted Rundgren.
“I think it’s probably still very hard and painful and I don’t speak to him enough. I love him,” she shared.
Steevn is also dad of two other children — Chelsea, 36, and Taj, 34 — whom he welcomed with his second wife, Teresa Barrick.
