Both “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU” have been renewed at NBC for the 2025-2026 broadcast season, Variety has learned.

With the renewals, “Law & Order” will return for its 25th season, while “SVU” will be back for its 27th. These are the last remaining Dick Wolf shows on broadcast awaiting word on new seasons. NBC previously renewed all three of the “One Chicago” shows, while CBS has canceled two of the Wolf Entertainment-produced “FBI” shows and ordered a new show in that franchise starring Tom Ellis.

Wolf Entertainment also has “Law & Order: Organized Crime” starring Christopher Meloni, which recently launched its fifth season on Peacock.

The cast of “Law & Order” includes Hugh Dancy, Tony Goldwyn, Odelya Halevi, Mehcad Brooks, Reid Scott, and Maura Tierney. Wolf executive produces along with Rick Eid, Pamela Wechsler, Alex Hall and Peter Jankowski.

Mariska Hargitay leads the “SVU” cast along with Ice T and Peter Scanavino. It was previously reported that Juliana Martinez and Octavio Pisano will be exiting the show at the end of this season. Wolf, David Graziano, Julie Martin, Hargitay, Norberto Barba, Kenneth Brown and Jankowski are executive producers on “SVU.” Michele Fazekas will be joining the show as showrunner for Season 27.

Both shows are produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment.

NBC still has a number of decisions to make vis-à-vis renewals or cancellations ahead of the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on May 12. Announcements are still pending for: freshman dramas “Suits LA,” “Brilliant Minds,” “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” and “The Hunting Party; sophomore shows “The Irrational” and “Found;” and comedies “Lopez vs. Lopez” and “Night Court.”
