Kelly Ripa is getting good use out of her wedding dress almost three decades later.
In an interview for People’s World’s Most Beautiful issue, the award-winning talk show host, 54, revealed how she wears the lacy number today.
Ripa, who eloped with husband Mark Consuelos in 1996 in Las Vegas, found her off-the-rack gown during a warehouse sale at Barneys New York for less than $200.
“I took the tags off to wear it to our wedding and I wear it all the time now as a beach cover-up,” she told the outlet.
As it turns out, Ripa didn’t purchase it specifically for her nuptials. “I just bought it because it was really pretty,” the New Yorker said in 2016 on “Live! with Kelly and Michael,” with Michael Strahan as her co-host.
The episode came shortly after Ripa slipped into the dainty lace gown on her 20th anniversary vacation with husband Mark Consuelos in Turks and Caicos.
Ripa said the price was a lot for her at the time, but she decided to splurge because she was working on ABC soap opera “All My Children.”
“I said to myself, ‘I bet if I buy this maybe it will be an investment piece. Maybe I will wear it more than once,” Ripa continued.
She’s definitely gotten her money’s worth, as the mother of three has turned the non-bridal gown into a summer staple.
Though she keeps the decades-old staple in her closet, the actress, joined by her 23-year-old daughter Lola Consuelos in a video interview with People, shared some looks she won’t wear anymore.
She said she won’t wear miniskirts anymore, but decided to slip into the style for her interview with Lola as it was a “special occasion.”
Perhaps we’ll see Lola in her mom’s bridal look on the beach this summer.
