Josh Hutcherson has joined Rachel Sennott‘s upcoming HBO comedy series in a recasting, Variety has learned.
Hutcherson will take over one of the lead roles, which was played by Miles Robbins in the series’ pilot, as the role underwent changes after the pilot was shot and the show was greenlit. Sennott also stars in the untitled series along with Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, and True Whitaker. Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell guest star.
Hutcherson is best known for his starring role in the original “Hunger Games” films, and will reprise his role from “Five Nights at Freddy’s” in the sequel due out this fall. His other films roles include “The Disaster Artist,” “The Kids Are All Right,” and “Zathura.” Hutcherson also previously starred in the Hulu series “Future Man,” which ran for three seasons.
He is repped by Gersh, TFC Management, and Hansen Jacobson.
Sennott’s series was picked up to series at HBO in September. Per the official logline, “A codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.”
Sennott serves as writer and executive producer. Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, and Lorene Scafaria also executive produce, with Scafaria directing the pilot.
Deadline first reported Hutcherson’s casting.
