Jon Stewart on Thursday ripped President Donald Trump’s administration for pouncing on journalists who have asked about preliminary reports contradicting the president’s claims that U.S. strikes on Iran “totally obliterated” the country’s nuclear facilities.

“Boy, this has just been everything that is so difficult about this administration just on display in the moment. Even actions that it might take that can be successful are fraught with his fragility at all times,” said Stewart on the latest episode of his “Weekly Show” podcast.

Stewart pointed to Trump crashing out at media “scum” who reported on a leaked initial assessment that found that Saturday’s bombings likely only set Iran’s program back a couple months.

“You just think, ’Hey man, if it’s real and all the things that you said you had accomplished had been accomplished, then it shouldn’t be that hard to not be so defensive and angry all the time,” Stewart declared.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have also slammed leakers and the media this week, with the former Fox News host lashing out at ex-colleague Jennifer Griffin for being “the worst” following her questions at a Pentagon press conference on Thursday.

In a post to his Truth Social platform on Thursday, the president claimed that Democrats have been behind leaks on the “PERFECT FLIGHT” to Iranian nuclear sites before adding that they “should be prosecuted.”

Stewart summed up the Trump officials’ responses to the reports, remarking on his podcast, “It is just beyond the silliness, and if anybody pushes back, they demand 100% fealty, anything beyond that sets off anger and frustration because of the fragility.”
