Apple TV+ has officially renewed the drama series Your Friends & Neighbors, starring Jon Hamm, for a second season.
The announcement comes ahead of the premiere of Season 1, which is set to debut on April 11 with two episodes. The show will then follow a weekly release schedule through May 30.
The renewal comes less than a year after the initial announcement of the nine-episode first season, created by Jonathan Tropper.
“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it has been a dream come true,” said Tropper. “It’s been an absolute thrill partnering with Hamm, along with Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they’ve ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and a tribute to the work of this stellar cast, as well as the crew, writers, directors, and producers who worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
The series follows Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a disgraced hedge fund manager dealing with his recent divorce. According to the official synopsis, Coop begins stealing from the homes of his wealthy neighbors in Westmont Village, only to uncover secrets and scandals that prove more dangerous than he anticipated.
In addition to Hamm, the cast includes Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt, and Donovan Colan.
Tropper serves as the showrunner, director, and executive producer under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Hamm is also an executive producer alongside starring in the series.
Other executive producers include Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, with Gillespie directing the first two episodes. Additional episodes are directed by Stephanie Laing, Greg Yaitanes, and Tropper himself.
