Pop star JoJo Siwa is currently under the watchful eye of the “Celebrity Big Brother” cameras in the U.K., and it turns out she’s experiencing new awakenings in the show’s house.

Amid high-stakes tasks and inevitable drama, the 21-year-old has been confronting deeper truths — particularly around her gender identity. And like any “Big Brother” twist, the revelations came unexpectedly.

During an emotional moment in the show’s confessional room, Siwa broke down in tears as she confided in fellow contestant and “Love Island” alum Chris Hughes.

“Essentially, you have female, you have male. I’ve met a lot of females, love them, don’t feel like them. Met a lot of males, love them, definitely not them,” Siwa said. “Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like and … I don’t know, it’s not something I want to say about myself yet, but it’s something that is confusing and that’s probably why we were talking about it last night.”

As cameras rolled and housemates lent their support, Siwa had what can only be described as a breakthrough.

“I feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean? I think that’s the thing,” she said. “I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, and I think being here I’ve realized: ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer,’ and I think that’s really cool.”

Siwa embraced the fluidity of sexuality and then exclaimed that she’s switching from the L in LGBTQ+ to the Q.

Earlier during her time in the house, the singer was a part of an uncomfortable conversation regarding her sexuality. On April 9, Siwa had received anti-gay comments from Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke.

Rourke asked if the singer had a preference for boys or girls and, when she gave the response of “girls,” he responded: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”

Siwa responded: “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay, and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”

Things took an awkward twist as Rourke responded, “I’ll tie you up.”

Rourke ultimately agreed to leave the show due to “use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior,” a spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
