Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday said there’s a new political power that President Donald Trump is going to have to contend with.

And he’s not an American.

Kimmel pointed to Canada’s election this week, in which the Liberal Party won in a race dominated by Trump’s threats, insults and attacks. That means Prime Minister Mark Carney, who took office only last month after Justin Trudeau resigned, has now secured a full term in office.

Kimmel played part of Carney’s victory speech, which struck a very different tone from Trump’s campaign bluster.

“I have made many mistakes and I will make more,” Carney said. “But I commit to admitting them openly, to correcting them quickly, and always learning from them.”

Kimmel made a prediction.

“Oh man, Trump is gonna hate him!” he said. “I mean, admitting and learning from mistakes? What kind of Canadian Satanism is that?”
