Jimmy Kimmel has long ridiculed President Trump and Elon Musk‘s ongoing partnership, hinting that the Tesla CEO has spent more time with President Trump than the First Lady Melania Trump.
But Kimmel pulled no punches during Monday’s (May 5) episode of Live when he shared a clip of Musk’s recent interview with Lara Trump.
“It’s a shame that mainstream media has to be so negative,” he sarcastically told the Live audience during his opening monologue. “If you want to see how an interview is supposed to be done, look no further than this sit-down between star Fox reporter Lara Trump – no nepotism there – and Trump’s most loyal sex robot, Elon Musk.”
In the interview, Lara asked Musk if it was true that he was sleeping on the couch in his office at the start of President Trump’s term. “This is where the richest man in the world slept?” she asked.
Kimmel interjected to take a shot at Vice President J.D. Vance, whose early days in the White House were mired by rumors that he had a fetish for couches.
“J.D. Vance is like, ‘Oh man, that is so hot,’” Kimmel joked.
The late night host has been poking fun at Musk and President Trump’s partnership since the tech entrepreneur ingrained himself in Trump’s presidential campaign in 2024. Kimmel noticed early on that Musk appeared to be spending more time with President Trump than the First Lady was.
So much so, Kimmel joked that Musk was “picking out outfits for Trump to wear, he’s been applying his bronzing cream for his face.”
“Cute couple,” he joked on a past episode of Live.
He then added that Melania should “look out” for Donald’s new companion. “Trump’s got a new squeeze named Elonia Musk,” he joked.
