Jimmy Kimmel called out Fox News on Wednesday night for “misinformation” as the right-wing network covers President Donald Trump’s decision to send the military to Los Angeles in response to the ongoing protests in the city.

“There’s been so much misinformation, so much cherrypicking, when it comes to what they show on TV,” Kimmel said. “I mean, if you turn on Fox News, you’d think LA was getting invaded by more aliens than the movie ‘Mars Attacks.’ They are working so hard to make this seem like a lawless battleground.”

Kimmel films his show in LA, and asked his studio audience if they saw a “lawless battleground.”

The answer was a resounding “no.”

Kimmel said he’s been getting texts from people in other parts of the country asking if he’s OK.

“Yeah, we’re OK. The only problem we have is this lunatic,” Kimmel said, referring to Trump. “He’s acting like we’re burning the city to the ground.”

To give the situation some perspective, Kimmel showed a map of LA County and the city of Los Angeles, then showed the location of the protests, which appeared as the tiniest of dots even when zooming in.

“That’s it,” he said. “This is the emergency equivalent of having a mosquito bite on your body.”
