Jaume Collet-Serra is set to direct the dramatic psychological thriller “An Innocent Girl” for Netflix.
The film’s official logline reads, “When a young and ambitious woman is seduced by a high powered D.C. couple, she’s drawn into a dangerous world of sex, power and murder.”
Michael Mohan (“Immaculate”) penned the script, with current revisions by Marc Guggenheim (“Arrow,” “Carnival Row”).
Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will produce “An Innocent Girl” for Berlanti /Schechter Films, marking the latest project out of their production company’s creative partnership with Netflix. Marc Guggenheim, Mike McGrath and Scott Greenberg serve as executive producers.
Collet-Serra most scored the second-most watched film of all time on Netflix with “Carry On,” starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. With 172.1 million views, the Christmas-set action thriller has been viewed for over 344.1 million hours.
Collet-Serra told Variety in January he’d be open to a sequel to the high-octane airport film. “I would like to definitely make another one. When we started with the movie, it certainly felt like one unique story in a moment in time with a set of characters. If an idea comes to us that feels like we can do something that is as original as the first one, and that can connect with the audience in the same way, then we’ll explore that.”
Collet-Serra’s other directorial credits include “The Woman in the Yard,” “Jungle Cruise” and “The Shallows.” He is next set to direct a reboot of the 1993 film “Cliffhanger” starring Lily James and Pierce Brosnan.
