Jason Kelce shared that playing against his younger brother, Travis Kelce, in the NFL was infuriating because he always lost.
When asked on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” what it was like competing on the field against the tight end, the Philadelphia Eagles alum responded, “It’s annoying is what it is.”
“Because he’s so good — that’s why,” Jason added. “They were very good … I was only fortunate to beat Trav once.”
“But when you’re out there on the field, you’re getting ready to play your brother, there’s just something about seeing your brother out there that you get these flashbacks going to being out in the backyard playing football again,” the former NFL center continued.
Jason, 37, helped lead the Eagles to defeat Travis, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 21, 2023, during the 2023-24 NFL season.
Despite the Eagles’ win, they ultimately lost in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January, while the Chiefs prevailed in the 2024 Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers in February.
In March 2024, Jason announced he was hanging up his cleats after 13 seasons with the Eagles.
“There is no chance I would be here without the bond Travis and I share,” he shared during an emotional press conference.
“We did almost everything together — competed, fought, laughed, cried and learned from each other. We invented games, imagine ourselves as star players of that time.”
Jason added, “We envisioned making winning plays day after day. We won countless Super Bowls in our minds before ever leaving the house. And when we weren’t playing we were at the other one’s games.”
The retired athlete won his first and only Super Bowl in 2018 against the New England Patriots, while Travis has three wins under his belt.
Jason has since moved on to co-hosting the “Monday Night Countdown,” and made his ESPN debut in August.
He’s also recently been seen hanging out at Chiefs games alongside Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
The former football pro has his hands full with work and his family, as he and his wife, Kylie Kelce, announced last week that they are expecting baby no. 4.
The couple, who wed in 2018, share Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, Bennett, 1.
