The new horror movie Clown in a Cornfield really gets backs to the horror movie basics: clowns and cornfields! It doesn’t get much scarier than that. Just ask Stephen King.
Directed by Eli Craig, with a screenplay co-written by Craig and Carter Blanchard, Clown in a Cornfield is based on the best-selling 2020 horror novel of the same name by Adam Cesare. The story takes place in a small farm town in Missouri, where high school student Quinn Maybrook (played by Katie Douglas) is the new kid in town. Sure, there’s a rumor in her new school that someone dressed as the school mascot, a clown named Frendo, brutally murdered some teens back in the ’90s. But that was a long time ago! It’s totally fine now… right? Right?
Also starring Aaron Abrams, Carson MacCormac, Kevin Durand, and Will Sasso, Clown in a Cornfield first premiered at the 2025 South by Southwest Film Festival, where it was met with mostly positive review. Horror fans won’t want to miss it, so here’s what to know about where to watch the Clown in a Cornfield movie and when we expect to see the Clown in a Cornfield movie streaming on Shudder.

Clown in a Cornfield is not streaming on Netflix or Max, and likely will not be on Netflix or Max any time soon, due to the fact that the film is an RLJE Films and Shudder release, and will stream on the Shudder streaming platform, instead. If you want to watch Clown in a Cornfield at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Shudder, the horror-themed streaming service.
