Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-girlfriend from 2021 to 2024 continued her testimony at his sex trafficking trial as their text messages were read aloud in court.
Testifying under a pseudonym, “Jane” alleges that Combs coerced her into having days-long, drug-fueled sex parties with male escorts. She said she told Combs repeatedly throughout their relationship that she did not want to have sex with other men, but that he brushed off those concerns. In a text from September 2023, Jane wrote to Combs that she felt “obligated” to “perform” for him, for “fear of losing the roof over my head,” as Combs paid (and continues to pay) her rent in Los Angeles.
“I don’t want to be used and locked in a room to perform and fulfill your fantasies, I’m coming to the realization of what this really is,” Jane wrote Combs in September 2023. “My heart is really in this and it’s breaking. I don’t want to play this role in your life anymore.”
Jane previously testified that she fell in love with Combs in January 2021 after an amazing first date in Miami and then a trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands. In May 2021, he introduced her to his sexual fantasies, and having sex with other men became “90%” of Jane’s time spent with Combs.
On Instagram, Jane had often seen photos of Combs on vacations with his other girlfriends, and she expressed her disappointment and jealousy over text messages. In September 2023, Combs arranged a trip to New York, where he promised they would go out to dinner and go shopping. He also told her to bring her passport, implying there might be an international excursion.
Instead, Combs had arranged “entertainment” for the night, texting Jane, “I have a surprise if that’s OK.” Jane said she spent the majority of her time in New York with Combs holed up in a hotel room, having sex with male escorts.
“I’m not a porn star. I’m not an animal,” Jane texted Combs after the trip. She read her texts in a soft voice on the witness stand, dabbing her eyes with a tissue. “It’s been three years of me having to fuck strangers. I’m tired.”
Combs replied, “So we’re breaking up.” Jane said on the witness stand that she did not want to break up with Combs — she only wanted to stop having “hotel nights.” Jane messaged Combs that she needed a “break, spiritually and mentally,” to which Combs responded, “You’re wrong.”
Jane broke into gasping sobs on the witness stand as she read aloud texts from October 2023. “Sex is sacred to me,” she wrote, adding that the “hotel nights” were “creating a war inside of me.”
Combs pleaded with Jane to spend the day with just him — “no strangers” — to which Jane replied, “Nothing satisfies you. You always push me to do more and more.”
In texts from October 2023, Jane told Combs about her mental state, opening up about her “trauma.” Federal prosecutor Maurene Comey asked Jane to explain a message in which she told Combs, “I knew I was consenting, like you said.” Jane said she and Combs spoke over the phone earlier that day about videos Combs took of Jane having sex with male escorts. Combs allegedly told her, “If anybody were to watch these tapes, they would have thought you were having the best time … [and it] looked like you were consenting.”
Comey asked Jane if it was true that she had consented to having sex with male escorts. Jane took a long pause and said softly, “I’m still trying to figure that out.”
Earlier in the trial, Combs’ ex-girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, alleged that Combs used violence and threats of blackmail to coerce her into “freak-offs,” which closely resemble the “hotel nights” described by Jane.
Combs is pleading not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
