And it involves seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. try to help a new crop of kids survive a hook-wielding killer—nearly 30 years after their two harrowing encounters. As the trailer for I Know What You Did Last Summer proves, Southport, North Carolina, is in for a gruesome summer.
This time around, Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King will be the ones that fall victim to the mysterious hook-wielding killer after making a pact to keep their involvement in a fatal car accident to themselves.
And whether the gruesome events teased in the trailer—such as Haur-King’s character being repeatedly speared with a harpoon while the unsuspecting Outer Banks actress is soaking in a tub in the other room—are a gruesome manifestation of karma or a series of senseless crimes, it is nothing less than horrifying.
