Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes invested more than just their money into Formula 1’s Alpine team.
Jack Doohan and Pierre Gasly — who will be competing at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Sunday for Alpine — shared exclusively with Page Six Thursday how they bonded with the Super Bowl champs over balancing fame, family and success in their respective sports.
Doohan, 22, described Kelce, 35, and Mahomes, 29, as “special, humble guys [and] down to earth.”
“They’re also dedicated to their sport and their bodies and working towards their goals, so it’s great to see that reciprocated and, for us, to be able to chat about our differences in sport,” he said.
Doohan said he spoke to the Kansas City Chiefs stars about the different schedules pro football players have versus F1 drivers and “where they spend their time away from the track” or field.
“It’s just good to pick the brains of the differences — and the time differences — of how much time we’re, let’s say, working and not working,” he added.
Doohan concluded, “It’s great to have these huge and well-respected names on board.”
Gasly, meanwhile, said his first impression of Kelce was that he was such a “character” and told Page Six that he, too, enjoyed speaking to the Chiefs tight end and quarterback about living life in the limelight.
The French motorsport star, 29, told us that Kelce and Mahomes shared the importance of being able to separate staying focused when doing their sport but then having loved ones to “ground” them back home.
Kelce’s level of fame, in particular, has shot to superstardom since his romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift began in the summer of 2023, but the “New Heights” podcaster has embraced his notoriety.
“It’s the life I chose, I guess. I have fun with it,” he told “CBS Mornings” last September.
Kelce — who had a good time at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix parties — is expected to head down to South Florida again for the big race on Sunday. However, his reps could not be reached for confirmation.
It is unknown whether Swift — who had to miss the previous F1 festivities due to her Eras Tour — will be able to cheer on Team Alpine from inside the Hard Rock Stadium this year.
However, Doohan, for his part, is not too fazed by the star power that will surround him this weekend.
“To be honest, I’m here to do a job,” the Australian pro driver told us. “I’m here to race my car, to try to perform and, for me, as cool [as] it is, the rest for me is irrelevant.”
He concluded, “I am here to do a job with the team. It’s great if we can have that support from others but, for me, it’s not a big deal.”
His teammate Gasly, though, is a bit more pumped for a potential Swift sighting, noting that he saw the Grammy winner, 35, on tour with his girlfriend in Milan and was blown away by her performances.
