And just like that, everyone’s favorite love-to-hate show is back on our screens. The third season of the “Sex and the City” reboot returned on Thursday, May 29. New episodes will continue to drop on a weekly basis on Max. But if you don’t have a Max subscription, the most affordable way to stream “And Just Like That” online is on Prime Video, through their Max channel add-on — currently offering a week-long free trial.
Another cost-effective way to stream Max is through the Disney+ and Hulu bundle, which saves you 42% per month.
A lot has happened in the Sex and the City Universe since HBO’s reboot premiered two years ago. At the end of the second season, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) decided to give up her iconic Upper East Side apartment and move to Gramercy Parker. In the finale, she has one last dinner party at the apartment, having said a temporary goodbye to Aidan (John Corbett), who had asked her to wait for him (for five years!) so he could take care of his kids at home in Virginia. Meanwhile, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) got a new job at the Human Rights Watch, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) decided to return to the workforce and get a job at an art gallery.
The show’s ensemble received a bit of a shakeup for Season 3. Karen Pittman, who played Miranda’s professor and friend Nya Wallace, left the show for scheduling reasons before the show went into production. And Sara Ramírez — who played the show’s most polarizing character, comedian Che Diaz — also departed, as Variety reported in February 2024.
Meanwhile, Rosie O’Donnell makes her Sex and the City debut in the third season. The comedian plays Mary, a woman visiting New York from out of town whom Miranda picks up at a bar, expecting never to see again.
