It’s fashion’s big night out.
With the first Monday of May finally here, there’s only a matter of hours before stars’ limos start pulling up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2025 Met Gala.
This year’s coveted event has a “Superfine: Tailoring Black Stye” theme, paying homage to black dandyism and “[exploring] the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora,” per the Met.
Read on for everything you need to know about this year’s exclusive event, including how to catch all the looks from the comfort of your couch.
What time is the 2025 Met Gala
While the gala itself kicks off around 4:30 p.m. ET, coverage on both the E! network and Vogue’s YouTube channel begins at 6 p.m.
How to watch the 2025 Met Gala
In addition to the Vogue livestream, you can catch all the action — plus commentary from the likes of Christian Siriano, Zanna Roberts Rassi and Elaine Welteroth — on E!’s three-and-a-half-hour red carpet special.
The pop culture network is available via multiple live streaming services — including DirecTV Stream, which comes with a five-day free trial.
What is the 2025 Met Gala theme?
This theme for this year’s gala and the corresponding museum exhibit, is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which will honor black dandyism through the years and draw inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.”
“What makes it possible to translate Monica’s book ‘Slaves to Fashion’ into an exhibition is our collection of high-style menswear, which serves as a foundation for imagining and realizing a sartorial history of Black dandyism,” Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton told Vogue when the theme was announced.
Per usual, Anna Wintour also announced a separate dress code for the night, “Tailored to You,” which Vogue writes “mostly means embracing looks reflective of one’s personal style.”
Who is hosting the 2025 Met Gala?
In addition to Wintour, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams are set to officially co-host the event, with LeBron James joining as an honorary co-chair.
