Several of the stars of “Full House” are celebrating this week after actor Dave Coulier shared a positive update on his health.
Coulier, who portrayed Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom, confirmed Monday via his representative that he is cancer-free. The announcement came roughly five months after he went public with his Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis.
The actor’s news was celebrated by several of his “Full House” co-stars, including actors John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure.
“I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to share that my dear friend Dave has beaten cancer,” Stamos said in a video posted to Instagram late Monday. “He fought like hell with strength and heart and, true to form … a whole lot of humor.”
He went on to note: “To everyone still in the fight, I see you. Me and Dave are holding space for your pain, your bravery and your journey.”

Bure echoed those sentiments with a carousel of throwback photos showing her and Coulier over the years.
“DAVE IS CANCER FREE!!!! Join me in celebrating this AMAZING news — let’s shower him with all the love in the world!” she wrote on Instagram.
Shortly before Coulier made his announcement via People, Parade published an interview with the 65-year-old actor and his wife, Melissa Bring, in which he shared the results of a recent biopsy.
“Melissa and I waited for a week to get the biopsy results back, and there is no sign of cancer,” he told the outlet. “One of the few times in my life when ‘zero’ has been a great number to hear.”

At the time of the interview, Coulier was still awaiting the results of an additional CAT sign to determine if his cancer “will be in the rear-view mirror.”
Still, he added: “I’ll tell you this. Today is the first day that I really feel like, ‘Wow, I’m feeling pretty darn good. I feel like myself.’ And it’s today. So I get to celebrate that with you.”
Turns out, Coulier has several reasons to feel optimistic these days. On Monday, he also confirmed he’d become a first-time grandfather after his son, Luc, and daughter-in-law, Alex, welcomed a baby boy over the weekend.
