Ezra Miller may be making a return to Hollywood.

“The Flash” star’s career was derailed after a series of abuse and harassment allegations leading up to the release of the DC Comics film in 2023. Since then, they’ve been keeping a low profile, but recently made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “Die My Love” to support Lynne Ramsay, who directed Miller in “We Need to Talk About Kevin.”

Miller was at another fest recently, Filming Italy Sardegna, and gave an interview to Italian publication Lo Speciale Giornale where they said they’d return to the industry “on tentative grounds.” Miller also called Ramsay “one of the greatest living filmmakers” and revealed that they’re working on a new movie together.

“I’m working with her again, that will likely be the first thing I do. It’s a film that her and I are writing together,” they said. “And I came to Cannes because she asked me to come, and if there’s anything I really still believe in in my life, it’s devotion to one’s people, one’s loved ones … above all else.”

Miller admitted that they “didn’t necessarily want to go to Cannes” and “had a bit of a hard time.”

“That’s a tough reentry point. If you’ve been in the woods for three years, I do not recommend going straight to Cannes,” they continued. “But yeah, I did that for Lynne. I would do anything for Lynne.”

Miller had previously been arrested on charges including disorderly conduct and harassment, second-degree assault and burglary. In June 2022, separate orders of protection were also issued against them on behalf of an 18-year-old in Standing Rock Sioux tribal court and a 12-year-old child in Massachusetts, alleging inappropriate behavior. Both orders were eventually lifted. Later that summer, Miller issued an apology for their recent behavior and said they were seeking help for “complex mental health issues.”

Speaking to Lo Speciale Giornale, Miller reflected on that time in their life, saying: “When you work in this industry, you will find yourself in deep relation with a lot of people who do not give a single fuck about you or your well being at all. And so, not that I don’t hold a lot of remorse or lamentation for a lot of things that I did and a lot of things that happened in that time, but I’m really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss.”
