Hailie Jade Mathers found a sneaky way to hide her pregnancy with the help of best friend Brittany Ednie before her dad, Eminem, announced the exciting news.

During Friday’s episode of their “Just A Little Shady” podcast, the pair revealed the clever way Ednie “covered for” Mathers during a wedding they both attended “a couple of weeks ago.”

“I need to also defend myself now that this is public knowledge, that you are pregnant, because at said wedding, people did not know that she was pregnant,” Ednie said after Mathers called her out for being a bit tipsy at the nuptials.

Ednie explained that she was secretly drinking all of Mathers’ alcoholic beverages so that their friends didn’t raise any suspicions.

“So she was, you know, grabbing a drink, not consuming the drink as a responsible parent does,” she said.

“Whenever people were turned around, she would hand me her drink, and I would chug so it looked as if she was continuously drinking throughout that night.”

Mathers said her bestie was really “taking one for the team” by doubling up on the drinks despite never being asked.

“I’ll defend myself, though, because I never really asked you to do it,” the expecting mom said. “It was like an unspoken thing with our eyes.”

Up until then, Mathers explained that her now-husband, Evan McClintock, had been secretly sipping on her drinks during social events. However, she said he was “not nearby” while they were chatting to different groups of people.

Also, the drink was very specific, like a lavender lemonade, so Evan was like, ‘I don’t want that,’” the 28-year-old explained. “But you were like, ‘Oh, I’ll take some drinks of it.’”

“So I feel like you kinda volunteered yourself for that one,” she quipped.

However, the BFFs didn’t have to keep up their ruse for very long as Mather’s famous father announced her pregnancy weeks later in the new music video for his song “Temporary.”

In the video – which is dedicated to Mathers – the soon-to-be mom handed her famous dad, 51, a Detroit Lions jersey with “grandpa” on the back.

The “Lose Yourself” rapper looked shocked as he held up the jersey and looked at his daughter in awe.

Mathers also gave her dad a picture of her sonogram, which she later posted on Instagram alongside husband Evan McClintock.

The expecting parents met in 2016 and McClintock popped the question seven years later. The “Houdini” rapper walked her down the aisle in May 2024.

Meanwhile, Eminem welcomed his baby girl in December 1995 with Kim Scott, whom he was married to twice before they split for good in 2006.

He also adopted Alaina — the daughter of Kim’s twin sister, Dawn — and Stevie Mathers — Kim’s child from another relationship — when they were young.
