You’ll never accept an AirDrop request again after watching Drop, the new Blumhouse horror movie coming to digital platforms tomorrow. If you’re not in my contacts list, I don’t want it!

Directed by horror filmmaker Christopher Landon (known for the Paranormal Activity and Happy Death Day franchises), with a screenplay written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach, Drop stars White Lotus actor Meghann Fahy as a single mother putting herself out there on a date, when she receives a series of anonymous messages AirDropped to her iPhone. The messages instruct her to follow orders and tell no one, lest her younger sister (Violett Beane) and young son (Jacob Robinson) be killed.

Also starring Brandon Sklenar, Reed Diamond, Ben Pelletier, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffery Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson, Drop does what Blumhouse movies does best: take a silly concept, add a lot of blood, and make a fun horror romp. But before you shell out $25 to watch Drop at home, you should know that we expect to see Drop streaming on Peacock soon.

Where to watch the Drop 2025 movie on streaming:

Beginning on Tuesday, April 29 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also April 28 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) Drop will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”

Drop is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Drop streaming on Peacock soon.

When will the Drop movie be streaming on Peacock?

Drop‘s streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but we know that Drop will stream on Peacock eventually because it is a Universal movie, and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. All the new Universal theatrical movies end up streaming on Peacock, though the wait period has varied by title. Once Drop comes to Peacock, it will be streaming there for about four months.

Another Universal release, Wolf Man, will be streaming on Peacock on April 18, which was about three months after the movie opened in theaters, and about two months after the film released on digital.

If Drop follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie streaming on Peacock around late June or early July 2025.

This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent digital release strategy. Nosferatu, for example, took just two months to stream on Peacock, rather than three. So it’s possible you’ll see Drop streaming on Peacock by early June.

When will the Drop movie be streaming free on Amazon?

You will see Drop streaming on Amazon Prime, free to subscribers, after the movie streams on Peacock. This is because of a deal with Amazon Prime Video, in which Universal movies stream on Peacock for the first four months, and the last four months, of the 18-month “Pay 1” window. (“Pay 1” is the industry term for the year-and-a-half period that follows a movie’s run in theaters.) Under this Universal and Amazon deal, during the in-between months—aka months 5 through 14—the live-action Universal titles will stream free on Amazon Prime Video.

So if Drop starts streaming on Peacock around June 2025, you might see Drop streaming free on Amazon Prime around November 2025.

But this is all speculation, and guess work. If you want to watch the Drop movie right away, you can buy or rent the film starting tomorrow.
