This morning’s audience on The Drew Barrymore Show got the wrong idea when Ross Mathews began rubbing host Drew Barrymore‘s freshly shaved legs.

While Barrymore is typically seen sporting a chic pantsuit, she opted for something a little different today as she strutted out onto the stage wearing a skirt and black tights. “I’m trying tights. This is my season of tights,” she said as she threw her legs onto the Drew’s News desk. “It’s, like, I’m giving leg — but I’m not.”

Mathews, on the other hand, pointed out that the “best thing” about wearing tights is that she doesn’t have to shave her legs, noting that Barrymore “doesn’t like to do that.”

However, the actress explained that her makeup artist recently introduced her to a new device that easily “gets rid” of all of her leg hair.

“So, all winter long will you be as smooth as can be?” Mathews asked, to which Barrymore replied, “I’m smooth right now! Feel it!”

As Mathews began to slowly rub Barrymore’s legs, the audience burst into “oohs” and “ahhs.”

“What is it? Oh, no. Don’t ‘ooh’ this. This is more ‘ew’ than ‘ooh,’” Mathews joked, while Barrymore loudly reminded everyone, “He’s gay!”

Mathews then assured the audience, “This is as far as this is gonna go,” before Barrymore playfully added, “And yet the most action I’ll get all season.”

Barrymore’s body hair has been a topic of conversation before — especially right after she posted a video claiming she was shaving for the first time in months when the alarm in her building started going off.

“You cannot make this stuff up. I was so excited. I was finally shaving after three months,” Barrymore — who still had shaving cream remnants in her armpits — said in the Instagram video. “But the house alarm is going off.”

When the alarm finally stopped, Barrymore offered an update, telling her followers, “I did get to shave, though, under absolute stress and duress and panic. But I got it done. So joke’s on you, house alarm.”
