Doechii downplayed her outburst that occurred just before walking Monday’s 2025 Met Gala red carpet in a cavalier TikTok uploaded Wednesday.
After the rapper, 26, went viral for demanding her team flank her with umbrellas to shield her from a premature outfit reveal, she posted a selfie-style video with the words, “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas ☂️😂,” written across the screen.
The slow-motion footage showed Doechii putting her hands up in a gesture that would indicate a truce, as she wrote in the caption, “All jokes aside this was such an overstimulating night but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed it (umbrellas aside) 😭🥴.”
She set the clip to the tune of The Commodores’ “Easy.”
Some fans had the “Anxiety” hitmaker’s back, acknowledging that her first Met Gala appearance was surely stressful.
“That was anxietyyyyyyy🖤! Big night! Your debut! Getty was there, I get it! You ate! 🌂,” one commenter replied, as another added, “God forbid a girl caught an anxious vibe 😔.”
One critic, however, argued that “we should all learn how to better express ourselves when under pressure 🫡,” while another added, “a girl can ask politely.”
Doechii went viral after her diva moment was caught on camera.
The musician — who was getting ready for fashion’s biggest night at the nearby Mark Hotel — was seen in another TikTok emerging from an elevator, only to be startled by the swarms of photographers waiting for her in the lobby.
As cameras flashed, a panicked Doechii pulled herself back into the elevator and tried to hide among her staffers.
“Hey! I’m ready!” she was heard shouting after her team rushed to conceal her inside a white wardrobe screen covered by umbrellas.
“No, stop! Give me another umbrella now! And another one. We need another one! I need four f–king umbrellas!” the Grammy winner yelled.
Her squad rushed to fulfill her requests, eventually hiding her to her liking.
“OK, make a path everyone!” she then screamed as the group shuffled out the doors of the hotel.
The TikTok user who took the video wrote atop the footage, “Doechii yelling at her assistants like a BRAT?? Is she okay? 😬.”
While some commenters felt her team was “unprepared” and her behavior was “justified,” others thought the tantrum was unnecessary.
“All this for THAT outfit 💀 gtfo,” one dissenter wrote, with someone else echoing, “Look wasn’t even worth all that disrespect and rudeness towards the/her staff 😒.”
Once outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Doechii unveiled her ensemble: a coat and matching trouser short set designed by Pharrell and Louis Vuitton in observance of the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme.
