Sean “Diddy” Combs described his sexual proclivities as “voyeurism” and “escapism.” But one of his ex-girlfriends, testifying at his criminal trial under the pseudonym “Jane,” said she found a more fitting term: “cuck.”
Jane, who has said Combs was at his happiest while watching her have sex with male escorts, testified Tuesday afternoon that she began researching Combs’ sexual fetishes so she could “understand what was going on” in their relationship. Eventually, she came across the words “cuck” and “cuckold,” and thought to herself: “This is spot on.”
“I wanted to know why my partner wanted so many of these nights,” she said on the witness stand as she was cross-examined by Combs’ attorney Teny Geragos.
Asked to define the term “cuck,” Jane said, “A cuck derives pleasure seeing his woman derive pleasure from another man.” As federal prosecutors attempted to block the line of questioning, she continued, “Cucks could also have a bi-curiosity that they are too ashamed to experience themselves. So they use the woman to venture out in this curiosity without actually doing the act itself.”
Throughout much of the first day of cross-examination, Geragos maintained a friendly tone with Jane, who, before testifying, had willingly met with the defense team on multiple occasions. Geragos is attempting to undermine the government’s claim that Jane was sex trafficked by showing that Jane had agency in her relationship with Combs. The attorney showed numerous examples of dirty text exchanges between the two, and at one point reminded Jane that she had said she liked exploring her sexuality with one of the escorts.
Geragos also focused on the loving aspects of Jane and Combs’ relationship, emphasizing that Jane said she enjoyed taking care of him, and that she would rub his feet and watch “Dateline” with him after their “freak-offs.” “This was your partner, your lover,” Geragos said, adding that Jane wanted to “please him” and “make him happy.” She also referenced some of Jane’s comments about the recurring escorts she and Combs brought into their sex life. Jane had spoken highly of a specific escort named Paul, saying they had “chemistry” and that he had a “warm energy.” Sometimes Jane, Paul and Combs referred to themselves as “the trifecta,” each taking on the respective nicknames Kobe Bryant, Shaq and Michael Jordan.
During her direct examination over the last few days, Jane testified that she told Combs repeatedly throughout their relationship that she did not want to have sex with other men, but that he brushed off those concerns. In a text from September 2023, Jane wrote to Combs that she felt “obligated” to “perform” for him, for “fear of losing the roof over my head,” as Combs paid — and continues to pay — her rent in Los Angeles. (Combs also continues to pay Jane’s legal fees, even as she testifies against him.)
“I don’t want to be used and locked in a room to perform and fulfill your fantasies. I’m coming to the realization of what this really is,” Jane wrote Combs in a text message in September 2023. She testified that “90%” of her time spent with Combs involved having sex with other men. “My heart is really in this and it’s breaking. I don’t want to play this role in your life anymore.”
“I’m not a porn star. I’m not an animal,” she told Combs in another text. “It’s been three years of me having to fuck strangers. I’m tired.”
Jane’s cross-examination will continue on Wednesday. Combs is pleading not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
