Robert Irwin is hitting the dance floor.

At Hulu’s Get Real event on Tuesday (April 22), the late Steve Irwin‘s son was announced as the first celebrity contestant on the upcoming installment of Dancing with the Stars. This also served as the announcement that the reality competition series landed a Season 34 renewal.

Shirtless with a boa constrictor named Priscilla around his neck, the 21-year-old environmentalist was introduced by DWTS hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, as well as judge Derek Hough and pro dancers Rylee Arnold and Ezra Sosa. Robert praised Derek for sporting khakis, and deemed the exciting moment of being named a DWTS contestant “the coolest.”

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Robert’s sister Bindi Irwin took home the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 21 alongside Derek Hough. Robert not only shared a clip from the moment he was announced, but also shared a sweet throwback video of him at just 11 years old with a headset on, helping announce during a DWTS episode from when his sister competed on the show.

“11 year old me is beside himself right now 😂,” he captioned the post. “Bindi, thank you for inspiring me to take on this next adventure 🙌🏼☺️ @dancingwiththestars, I’m so grateful for the life-changing experience ahead.”

Decider Features Creator Hope Sloop was there for this moment, and posted the clip of this exciting moment to Decider’s official TikTok channel:

Robert’s father Steve, known for hosting wildlife series like The Crocodile Hunter and Croc Files, passed away in 2006 at 44 years old after suffering an injury from a stingray bite, per People. According to an April 22 press release, the rest of the DWTS Season 34 cast will be revealed at a later date.

Dancing with the Stars Season 34 will air live on ABC and stream live on Disney+. Next-day streaming will be available on Hulu.
