He’s already stolen the show.

Colman Domingo arrived on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet in style, appearing to pay tribute to late fashion journalist André Leon Talley in a bright blue Valentino cape — specifically referring the silk kaftan the Vogue alum wore to the annual event in 2011.

Domingo, meanwhile, wore a shimmering gold and silver oversized bib over his long pleated number, along with a clear statement necklace and bold ear cuff by Boucheron.

The “Sing Sing” actor, 55, perfectly encapsulated the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme — which honors black dandyism — with his look, as Andrew Bolton, the museum’s Costume Institute curator, told CBS that this year’s theme is inspired by Talley.

Shortly after debuting the vibrant cape on the red carpet, Domingo switched into his second outfit of the evening — a neutral mismatched look, also from Valentino.

The “Euphoria” actor sported a black and white checkered blazer, striped button-up, a polka-dotted tie, and a flower-shaped brooch in the timeless print. He grounded the print-heavy outfit with dark gray trousers and black flats.

Domingo is serving as a co-chair for the night, alongside A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton and Anna Wintour herself and was chosen because of his long dedication to stand-out fashion.

Not only is he a house ambassador to Valentino, but he’s regularly among the best-dressed on the red carpet at any event.

In an interview on Vogue’s “The Run Through” podcast, Domingo teased his look — and revealed that he got a stamp of approval from editor in chief Wintour herself.

“Anna sent me a text and she says, ‘Checking in … how’s filming going and how’s your Met look??” Domingo said. He recalled waiting for “hours” for her response after sending a photo of the unfinished outfit and said he “died” at her response.

“And then finally, at 9:47 p.m. before I went to bed, I was like ‘I’m not going to sleep until she texts me back,’ she says, ‘work of art,’” he continued, before raising his arms and exclaiming, “I’m good, you guys! I’m gonna be alright.”

Certainly he’s had a history of nailing it at the Met Gala, specifically — and referencing Talley. Domingo made his debut at the annual affair in 2024, wearing a black and cream Willy Chavarria suit with a long cape that honored ALT and Chadwick Boseman.

Domingo explained of his look at the time, “They both wore capes when they were at the Met. Everything I do, I feel like it’s gotta be for the culture. It’s gotta be more than just for me.”

He added, “I wanted to honor these brothers who were here before me as well.”
