Bruce Willis’ wife of 17 years, Emma Heming, got candid about the difficulty of celebrating her milestone 50 th birthday while caring for her husband, who is currently suffering from frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

The 71-year-old was first diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, before this was amended to an FTD diagnosis in 2023. FTD is a brain disorder affecting the frontal and temporal lobes and has no known cure.

Bruce suffers from the variant that affects language, making it difficult for him to communicate with his loved ones.
