Good news, CoHorts: The hit romantic drama It Ends With Us, based on Colleen Hoover‘s bestselling novel, will be hitting Netflix by the holidays.

The streamer announced that It Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, will begin streaming Dec. 9.

The hit movie follows Lily Bloom (Lively), who meets a handsome neurosurgeon (Baldoni) who seems picture-perfect, until he begins displaying a darker side that feels all too reminiscent of how her abusive father treated her mother growing up. Their life together is suddenly thrown for a loop as he becomes increasingly abusive yet apologetic, underscored by the surprise arrival of her high school boyfriend, Atlas (Brandon Sklenar).

The film was previously available on demand on Prime Video, but now fans who missed it in theaters — or who just want to experience the romance one more time — will be able to stream it for free on Netflix in just a few short weeks.

The film premiered in August 2024 to largely positive reviews. But the premiere was overshadowed by rumors that Baldoni and Lively were allegedly feuding behind the scenes over creative differences.

Though Baldoni directed the film and owned the rights to the book through his production company, Wayfarer Studios, rumors swirled that Lively had her own “competing” version of the film made. Lively also admitted to having her husband, Ryan Reynolds, help write a key scene in the film.

Baldoni was also accused of behaving unprofessionally on set. A source from set told People amid the drama, “The principal cast and Radhamely De Leon Colleen Hoover will have nothing to do with him.”

With the box office success It Ends With Us enjoyed after its summer premiere, there’s a high chance that the sequel, It Starts With Us, will also get adapted for the big screen.

But Baldoni does not appear to be interested in coming back for more.

“I think that there are better people for that one,” he told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere, seemingly taking himself out of the running as director. “I think Blake Lively’s ready to direct, that’s what I think.”

For those who can’t wait for It Ends With Us to premiere on Netflix, the film is available to rent on Prime Video for $5.99.
