The Met Gala 2025 red carpet ends without one notable couple.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds didn’t walk the famed Metropolitan Museum of Art steps in New York City on May 5, opting to stay out of the spotlight amid their ongoing legal battle with the Gossip Girl alum’s It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. As for the reason the pair—who share kids James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2—weren’t in attendance at the annual haute couture event? Ryan, 48, and Blake, 37, have yet to share why they skipped the festivities, which were co-chaired this year by A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.
However, it’s not the first time the two have missed the charity fundraiser. After all, Ryan and Blake—who has arrived dressed to impress for 10 Met Galas since making her debut in 2008—were absent from last year’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”-themed occasion as well.
