Jay-Z stunned the crowd at the Stade de France in Paris, making a surprise appearance on stage during Beyoncé’s final “Cowboy Carter” show in France on Sunday night.

Sporting a stylish black hoodie and sunglasses, Jay-Z sent fans into a frenzy as he performed with Beyoncé their 2003 hit “Crazy in Love.” Celebrity guests at the Paris concert included Kelly Rowland and Cardi B, who was at Cannes Lions last week and performed at the Spotify venue.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who have three children together — Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir Carter — were last on stage in Paris together in 2014 for the “On The Run Tour.” They also shared the stage in 2016 for the final show of her “Lemonade” tour, which took place in New Jersey (Kendrick Lamar also appeared at that show, the only two guest appearances on the tour), and in 2018 for the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 celebration.

Blue Ivy and Rumi have been part of the “Cowboy Carter” tour as well. Blue Ivy has become a principal dancer in the show, while Rumi has appeared alongside Blue during Beyoncé’s nightly performances of “Protector.” Surprise appearances on the tour have been relatively scarce, as Miley Cyrus became the first official guest to appear on stage with Beyoncé for a rendition of their Grammy-winning duet “II Most Wanted” in Paris on June 19.

Variety‘s Chris Willman said of the tour’s Los Angeles stop, “It’s a 2-hour-45-minute mashup of hardcore dance music and country/Americana leanings, in which neither primary genre has to say: ‘Don’t fence me in.’ And it’s deliriously great, blurry, boundary-busting fun.”
