Bethenny Frankel shared her daughter Bryn’s emotional plea that convinced her to sell her multi-million dollar Connecticut home and move to Florida.
“We were down in Florida and something very personal transpired,” the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum shared on Tuesday’s episode of her “Just B” podcast.
“I don’t want to get into all the details of this now, but something happened, and my daughter, who had said years ago, ‘I want to move to Florida,’ she cried to me.”
Frankel, 54, recalled telling Bryn, 14, that they couldn’t pick up and move to the Sunshine State due to “a set of circumstances” and knowing the teen had “great friends and a great life” up north.
“At that time, it was just a concept, and I couldn’t have imagined living in Florida,” the Bravo star said. “So, she said, ‘I want to move to Florida this trip,’ and I was, like, ‘Something had happened.’”
She continued, “She begged me. She didn’t have to beg me, like, she was like, ‘I really want this’ … I know my kid and I knew that once this was presented … that she’d want to move. I was just like, ‘F–kng f–k it, OK.’”
Frankel shared she always planned to relocate to Florida once Bryn went to college, but reconsidered her plans around March.
“I have been a frazzled, manic mess since then,” she explained. “This f–king house is gonna kill me.’ It’s the best house. It’s an amazing, extraordinary house for a family that has kids that will come home, you have a staff [and] there’s an apple orchard.”
The Skinny Girl founder’s heartfelt conversation with her listeners comes after she announced the move via TikTok on Friday.
“Within five weeks, [we] had sold and bought a home in both places,” she said. “We’ll keep this apartment, but I sold my home and bought a house in Florida.”
Frankel shared that her old mansion was “drowning” her.
“It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life. I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I’d be entertaining there a lot,” she continued.
Frankel described the property as “lonely.”
The businesswoman claimed she was optimistic about the move and “excited for this next chapter.”
She shares Bryn with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy, with whom she was married from 2010 to 2021.
