Ben Affleck is making sure his three kids learn the value of working for a paycheck.

The Oscar-winner explained why he’s having his three children hold down “classic teenager” jobs while speaking to Jenna Bush Hager and Andy Cohen while promoting his new film “The Accountant 2” on Tuesday’s episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends.”

“You love your kids. You want to give them everything and do everything for them,” said Affleck, who added that by not teaching them to earn the things that they want, you “definitely do them a disservice.”

The topic came up as the group discussed a viral video of the star’s 13-year-old son, Samuel Affleck, checking out a pair of very pricey kicks during a sneaker convention last month.

Affleck said he quickly shut down the conversation when his son asked if he could snag a pair of highly-collectable Dior Air Jordan 1s.

“These sneakers are $6,000, what are you talking about?” he recalled himself saying. “What are you gonna do, mow lawns? You got $6,000?”

“He was like, ‘We have the money,’” the “Gone Girl” star remembered. “I was like, ‘I have the money! You’re broke.’”

Asked if his two older kids, Violet, 19, and Seraphina, 16, had ways to earn pocket money, Affleck told the hosts, “In fact, one just got a job, the kind of classic teenager working a shop job.”

“My older one in college is working and trying to get an internship for the summer,” he said of his and ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s firstborn, who is currently studying at Yale.

Circling back to his youngest, Affleck said he told his son, “Well, if you want [the shoes], you can work 1,000 hours.”

“Minimum wage,” he added. “And once you work 1,000 hours, you may not want to spend that on a pair of sneakers.”
