Ava Phillippe has some tattoos she regrets — just like mom Reese Witherspoon.
The budding actress, 25, gave fans a tour of her tattoos on TikTok, revealing the meanings behind all eight of her designs as well as the few that she’s planning to remove.
Some of Phillippe’s more personal pieces include her first tattoo, a small feather on her wrist; a series of 9s in tribute to her birthday, September 9, 1999; and the word “true,” written in blue ink as a reminder “to be true to yourself.”
Her “favorite” is an orchid that symbolizes “the sensitive little kid that I was” — and there’s one that nods specifically to her famous mom.
“These are my birds; they symbolize me and my two little brothers,” she said of the trio of birds on the inside of her bicep.
“They’re also a reference to a tattoo someone else in my family used to have… but we don’t talk about that,” she teased.
Phillippe appears to be referring to Witherspoon’s hip tattoo featuring two swallows facing towards a star, which she had inked in the early aughts. The “Legally Blonde” star, 49, must have gotten the large design removed, as it was absent from a 2016 bikini post she shared on Instagram.
The two birds presumably represent her eldest children, Ava and Deacon Phillippe, 21, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon also shares 12-year-old son Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth.
Like her mom, Ava is going to have a few designs removed as they don’t “resonate” with her anymore — including a ticket stub, a crying eye and a candle and match.
“I honestly forget about it all the time and I don’t really feel it’s necessary anymore,” she said of the latter.
